It is very important to maintain hygiene during the monthly period.

Many women are still unaware of the importance of hygiene during menstruation. Women in many places still have no idea about the basic ways of maintaining hygiene during periods.

In many rural places, people still use clothes instead of sanitary pads. And this is something that needs to be stopped immediately.

  1. Do Not use the same pad for more than 4 hours. It is completely unhygienic to use the same pad for more than that. Especially on the first few days when the flow is heavier.
  2. This is one of the most important points of maintaining hygiene during menstruation. Clean your vaginal area. Include this in your routine. You can simply use soap and water. There are even many washes available in the market that is especially used to clean the vaginal area. But remember to test these washes before getting used to it. If it doesn’t suit your skin better not use it.
  3. Always wear clean and comfortable underwear during your period days. We have already discussed the importance of changing pads. Now, let me tell you that is not enough. Along with the pad, you should also wear clean underwear and change it whenever it gets stained by the blood. Wearing the same underwear for a long period of time might just lead to infections. Also, wear something that is comfortable enough and is of good fabric and quality.
  4. Lastly, don’t forget to throw the used sanitary pads properly. Wrap them in a piece of paper or any bag and then discard them. If this is not done properly, there are chances that the bacteria might just spread all over. Use hand wash or soap to wash off your hands after doing it.

Remember, hygiene and cleanliness are very important to live a healthy life.
